Pineapple Mango Smoothie
The season for pineapples and mangoes have started. Why not make smoothies with available seasonal fruits for kids. I love both of these fruits individually, and they taste great when combined.
Combine pineapple with other fruits like berries, papaya or banana to give varieties to your kids. Kids don’t eat fruits when given to them in solid form. But smoothies will definitely attract them.
You can make this smoothie with very less ingredients and quickly as well. It is perfect for breakfast as well as evening snack.
Serving : 1
Ingredients:
- Pineapple – 1/2 cup (roughly chopped)
- Mango – 1/2 cup (roughly chopped)
- Greek yogurt – 1/4 cup
- Milk – 1/3 cup (optional, don’t use if you want the smoothie to be thick)
- Sugar / Honey – 2 teaspoons (optional)
Method:
- Only 3 main ingredients are necessary for this smoothie. I have used fresh fruit, but you can use frozen ones also. If using fresh fruit, be sure to use ripe ones for great taste.
2. Add to a blender, 1/2 cup each mango, pineapple along with 1/4 Greek yogurt and blend it well. If necessary add milk, sugar and give one more pulse.
3. Transfer the smoothie to a glass and serve chilled.
Smoothie variations:
- You can also soak 1 tablespoon of chia seeds in 1/3 cup milk for 30 minutes and blend it along with other ingredients to make a Pineapple mango chia seed smoothie.
- Also, you can substitute 1/3 cup milk with 1/3 cup freshly squeezed orange juice to make a Pineapple Mango orange smoothie.
